Press TV has interviewed Kim Sharif, the director of the Human Rights for Yemen, and Frederick Peterson, a US congressional defense policy advisor, to discuss the Saudi military attacks against Yemeni civilians.

Sharif rejects the claim that the Saudis have not intentionally targeted the Yemeni civilians — the thousands of children that have been killed in particular — and says there are reports from Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many other rights bodies that confirm the fact that Saudi Arabia has deliberately targeted civilian areas in Yemen.

She says Saudi Arabia has committed mass murder and exterminated innocent children in Yemen “with the help and support of the United States and Britain by means of supplying the actual weapons of mass destruction.”

Sharif says both the US and the UK have provided the Saudis with logistical and intelligence support during the Saudi war on Yemen. She cites Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, as confirming that the British and American forces help the Saudis with determining targets for attacks.

Peterson, for his part, says that, “When a child dies, [and is] intentionally targeted, it is not a tragedy, it is an atrocity. When a child dies as collateral damage through the irresponsible use of weapons, that also is an atrocity.”

He claims, however, that there is no clear evidence that the Saudis intentionally targeted civilians in Yemen.
