Afghans celebrate Imam Mahdi’s Birthday anniversary

People in Afghanistan have held ceremonies to commemorate the birth anniversary of the 12th Shia Imam. Afghans believe that Imam Mahdi’s birthday is an opportunity to remind Muslims of their duties against tyranny and oppression. They believe that the advent of the Promised Savior will ultimately eradicate all social inequalities.
