People usually get money or property as inheritance, but an Australian woman has inherited a deadly beast instead.

Rather than keeping a pet dog or cat, Helen Haritos has a salt-water crocodile in her backyard which has fully grown to just under four meters.

The lady feeds the animal by throwing fish at her with extra care. Helen’s father used to be a crocodile hunter, so when he passed away in 1992, she received the reptile which was the only one in suburban Darwin.

The female croc is named Albert and is about 70 years old now which means it's perhaps living its final days.

Crocodiles are protected species in Australia’s northern territory, but Haritos family has permit to keep Albert.
