At least 3 killed in assault on hotel in Malian capital
A shooting rampage is underway in Mali after unknown gunmen raided a hotel in the country’s capital Bamako.
Security forces have cordoned off the area surrounding Radisson Blu Hotel following the incident. There are reports that the gunmen had taken hostage some 170 guests and staff members as hostages. Officials say police have managed to free nearly 20 hostages after storming the building. At least three hostages including a Frenhc national have reportedly been killed. The US embassy in Mali has asked citizens to shelter in place. The 190-room hotel is located in a neighborhood in Mali’s capital that is home to government ministries and diplomats.
