Hawkish Sen. Ted Cruz aligned with Zionists: Researcher

Cuban American politicians like US Senators Ted Cruz and Robert Menendez have long been strongly aligned with Zionist Americans, says Dr. Short.

Conservative American politicians like Senators Ted Cruz and Robert Menendez have long been aligned with Zionists in advocating Israel’s interests and hostility towards Iran, a researcher and historian in Washington says.

The leadership of the Cuban American community has historically been “reactionary, anti-black, anti-sovereignty for Latin Americans and has been hawkish and it’s aligned with the Zionist community,” said Dr. Randy Short, a member of the Black Autonomy Network Community Organization.

The researcher blasted Senator Cruz for promoting Israel’s hawkish position against Iran’s nuclear program and threatening to revoke the Iran nuclear accord if he becomes president.

“You have this Zionist axis and they speak Spanish, but ultimately this is another Zionist ploy; the same way you have the hawkish, corrupt Senator Menendez from New Jersey,” Dr. Short said in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.

Cruz, who is campaigning to become the Republican nominee for US president, vowed on Wednesday that he would immediately “rip to shreds” the internationally-negotiated nuclear agreement.

“If I am elected president, on the very first day in office I will rip to shreds this catastrophic Iranian nuclear deal,” the Texas Republican said Wednesday night during the second GOP presidential debate, held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

The comments were made in an apparent attempt to appeal to Jewish voters and the Israel lobby.

The harsh rhetoric drew vocal disagreement from some of his rivals who said they would be more cautious, while others said they agreed.

“God save America from this maniacal, hateful, elites who only see war and believe the answer to everything is a bomb,” Short said.
