US Congress is totally controlled by Israel: Journalist
Most of lawmakers in “treasonous” US Congress are totally under the control of Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, says an investigative journalist.
“We have a treasonous Congress, the one that invited Netanyahu, the biggest war criminal in the world,” Joachim Hagopian said on Wednesday.
In a phone interview with Press TV, he said many of the congressmen “are totally controlled by Netanyahu and Israel and I’m afraid they are going to vote” to either approve or disapprove of a nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries.
“To override Obama veto, we are going to need two-thirds. So, it’s questionable whether they get it,” said Hagopian.
After 18 days of intensive talks, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries -- the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany – announced the conclusion of nuclear negotiations in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on July 14.
According to the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran will be recognized by the United Nations as a nuclear power and will continue its uranium enrichment program.
Hagopian went on to say that the conclusion on Iran’s nuclear program “is very very important and significant and very triumphant for humanity because it’s one step in the right direction towards peace as opposed to the neocon interventionist plan.”
“It is one step in the right direction as opposed to so much of what has been happening over the last many years,” he added.
Most Republicans oppose the nuclear agreement with Iran, but they need a two-thirds vote in both chambers of Congress to override a possible presidential veto, and to reach that threshold, Republicans need Democratic support.
Obama, however, warned that he would veto any legislation that seeks to block “the successful implementation of the deal.”
